Private Jet Types and Their Amenities
There is a lot that goes into choosing a private jet type for your particular trip. There are many factors to consider, including seating capacity, how much luggage your bringing, how far your trip is, desired amenities, size, and height of the cabin. After considering what your needs are, you can then decide which private jet type suits your trip. Generally, there are eight types of private jets, but we will focus on lights, mids, super mids, and heavies.
Light Jets:
A light jet is considered a small cabin plane that can handle short trips at a very cost-effective price. Light jets are ideal for business travel. This type can usually seat up to 8 passengers but have fewer amenities than the larger jet types. Some examples of popular light jets are Hawker 400xp, Citation Ultra, Phenom 300, CJ3, Falcon 10.
Mid-size Jets:
Mid-size jets have plenty of options and varieties which can suit most trips. These jets are great for both short and long-distance flights and are more fuel-efficient than larger aircraft. Some models also offer the same amenities as large jets. Depending on which mid-size jet you choose, some do offer a flight attendant on board as well. Popular mid-size jets are Hawker 800xp, Lear 55/60, Legacy 500, Citation Excel, G150.
Super Mid Jets:
These are bigger and more luxurious than the mid-size jets. They offer seating up to 12 passengers and are faster/ can travel longer distances than mids. Even at their larger size, they still provide excellent fuel economy. Super Mids are an excellent option for a large group of people going on a luxurious vacation, but yet more cost-effective than a large jet. Popular super mids are Citation Sovereign, Citation X, Hawker 1000, Falcon 50, Challenger 300.
Heavy Jets
Heavy Jets are the largest type and can travel the farthest distances. Heavy jets can seat up to 10 passengers very comfortably with high-end luxury seating. Some of these jets even have sleep options for overnight flights. They have the most amenities and usually include a crew of flight attendants. A heavy aircraft is an excellent option for cross country or international travel. Some of the most popular heavy jets are GIV, Falcon 2000, Legacy 600, Challenger 601, Global 5000.
